{"id":631,"date":"2017-02-26T17:34:08","date_gmt":"2017-02-26T17:34:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/formnutrition.com\/us\/?p=631"},"modified":"2019-07-04T13:58:29","modified_gmt":"2019-07-04T12:58:29","slug":"6-stretches-rebalance-body","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/formnutrition.com\/us\/inform\/6-stretches-rebalance-body\/","title":{"rendered":"6 Stretches to Rebalance Your Body"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Let&#8217;s face it, many of us are desk bound, life&#8217;s realities mean that&#8217;s a hard to change fact but given sitting is so bad for our health it has been described as \u201cworse than smoking\u201d what can we do to minimise the effects?<\/p>\n<p>Luckily there is a simple solution, studies suggest that getting up and moving regularly throughout the day can counteract the negative effects of sitting all day. With that in mind here are a few simple tips to increase your movement and a really nice 6 step stretch plan courtesy of <a href=\"https:\/\/2mealday.com\/\">Max Lowery<\/a>.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Set a reminder on your phone or computer for every hour and spend 5 minutes moving and stretching whenever the alert goes off.<\/li>\n<li>Stand up on your commute. You may not have a choice anyway but this is a simple way to activate all the muscles that have been inactive all day.<\/li>\n<li>Take the stairs, not the escalator or lift. When it comes to physical activity on a day to day basis, always try and challenge yourself. Don\u2019t take the easy option.<\/li>\n<li>Take your trainers into work and get off 1 or 2 stops early and walk\/run the rest of the way home. This is a simple, but effective way to increase activity without having to make time to go to the gym.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Making tiny lifestyle changes like the above add up to something bigger, couple that with\u00a0the 6 stretches below and you can begin to balance out the restrictive sitting position.
