You probably didn\u2019t need an excuse but now you have one.<\/p>\n<p>Coffee, one of the worlds most popular drinks contain caffeine, one of, if not the world&#8217;s most popular stimulant. It\u2019s always therefore been the subject of much research &#8211; everything from physical and mental performance to cancer and gastrointestinal diseases. The reason it&#8217;s so widely researched is precisely because it&#8217;s so commonly drunk \u2013 small individual effects can become very important at population scale.<\/p>\n<p>We researched in depth the benefits of caffeine in relation to performance for our\u00a0caffeine containing nootropic <a href=\"https:\/\/formnutrition.com\/us\/plant-based-nutrition\/form-boost-nootropic\/\">Boost<\/a> but it really doesn\u2019t end there. Published in November 17 a new umbrella\u00a0review (an\u00a0umbrella review reviews existing meta-analyses, meta-analyses are reviews of studies)\u00a0assessed all the existing\u00a0evidence on coffee in\u00a0relation to various\u00a0health outcomes. If you\u2019re a coffee nerd, the news is good.<\/p>\n<p>The review looked at a massive 201 meta-analyses and found coffee consumption <em>&#8220;more often than not associated with benefit\u00a0rather\u00a0than harm for a range of health outcomes.\u201d<\/em> The headline was that three or four cups of coffee a day, when compared to none, was a large relative risk reduction for all-cause mortality, cardiovascular mortality, and cardiovascular disease. Also\u00a0high versus low consumption was associated with an 18% lower risk of cancer.
