Black sesame paste is one of the most nutrient-dense ingredients you can blend, extraordinarily rich in calcium for bone health, magnesium for muscle function, zinc for immune support, and lignans with powerful antioxidant properties; in addition it adds a deep, nutty complexity to any recipe. Medjool dates provide natural fast-release sugars for glycogen replenishment alongside fibre, potassium, and iron. It’s a combination made in heaven! Ingredients

  • 40g Pureblend Protein
  • 1 tbsp Black sesame paste
  • 1 Medjool date (pitted)
  • 40g Frozen banana
  • 250ml Unsweetened soya milk
  • 5g Form Micronised Creatine Monohydrate
  • ¼ tsp Vanilla extract
  • 4 Ice cubes

Instructions

  1. Add all ingredients to blender and blend on high for 45–60 seconds until completely smooth and creamy.
  2. Pour into a glass. Finish with a sprinkle of black sesame seeds and a light drizzle of black sesame paste.
  Tips:
  • Black sesame paste (not tahini) is key — it has a deeper, more roasted, slightly bitter flavour than its white sesame counterpart
  • Medjool dates are naturally very sweet. Remove the stones before blending.
  • If you have a sweet tooth you can also add one or two drops of monk fruit or stevia
