Good News: The Corner Shop That Only Stocks B Corps
Founded in 2006 by Stanford University alumni, Jay Coen Gilbert, Bart Houlahan, and Andrew Kassoy, B Corp has since become one of the leading certificators of socially and environmentally conscious business in the world. As of February 2022, 4,673 companies, and counting, have undergone the rigorous process to become a B Corp, including Form, who gained its stripes back in June 2019, joining fellow B Corps like Pukka Herbs, Divine Chocolate, and Toast Ale.
Since then many more have become B Corps including The Body Shop, Sipsmith, evian, Oddbox, COOK, Teapigs, and graze, and you can find all of these stellar brands — and many more — in new pop-up space Good News, the first-ever B Corp store in the UK.
Sitting just around the corner from Tottenham Court Station and The British Museum, Good News times with the annual B Corp awareness month, and features 300 ambient, fresh, chilled and frozen products from 100 B Corp brands, as well as a free-of-charge vending machine from Healthy Nibbles that uses social media as its currency, fresh coffee from Origin, and a good-cause lotto with social impact and community-driven prizes.
The focus of the store is less on retailing the product in the traditional sense, but rather telling the stories of the B Corp brands helping drive change, while also educating consumers on how they can ‘buy better’. We’re delighted to be featured in the store among other brands that, like us, have positive impact and continuous improvement at their core.
If you’re in London, head down to 10A Rathbone Place, W1T 1HP to check it out for yourself. Good News is open until 31st March, Monday to Saturday between 10am and 6pm.
