Low-Carb Chocolate, Caramel & Hazelnut Shake
This chocolate, caramel & hazelnut shake is a must-try at only 216 calories. The recipe comes from some low-carb experimentation at Form HQ, where we swapped common smoothie ingredients high in natural sugars (namely dates and bananas) and replaced them for ones packed instead with healthy fats, greens and/or low-sugar berries.
Thanks to unsweetened cocoa powder, hazelnut butter and Form’s chocolate salted caramel Superblend protein, this shake doesn’t skimp on indulgent taste. But the real star of this smoothie is the frozen cauliflower – an off-beat but delicious addition for a lower carbohydrate count. Rich in potassium and magnesium, two vital minerals for blood pressure regulation, it’s not without its benefits to your health, too.
Top tip: steaming your cauliflower florets before freezing them will add a subtle but well-worth-it flavour to your shake.
