Form’s Performance Protein Is Now Informed Sport Certified
Did you know that up to one in ten supplements may contain banned substances? When you’re training intensely and recovering efficiently, you’ll want to make sure your supplements are working just as hard — and won’t scupper your efforts outside the gym.
Simply put, it’s crucial that your go-to nutrition provider approaches its product development with the same seriousness you dedicate to your training; and, in the dynamic world of sports nutrition, where the pursuit of peak performance meets the imperative of health and safety, certifications play a pivotal role in establishing trust.
With that in mind, Form has recently Informed Sport certified its bestselling Performance Protein, underlining an unwavering dedication to setting new industry standards and supporting athletes — whether professional or every day — with their training. So, what does this new certification mean for you? First things first…
What is Informed Sport?
Informed Sport is a globally recognised quality assurance program for sports supplements, supported by LGC, a leading global science and sports technology company. This certification program is designed to provide assurance to athletes that the supplements they consume are free from banned substances and contaminants. Informed Sport employs rigorous testing procedures, adhering to strict criteria to analyze supplements, making it one of the most respected certifications in the sports nutrition industry.
Why is it Important?
Whether you’re a weekend warrior, a dedicated gym-goer, or someone who engages in regular exercise routines, the supplements you consume play a vital role in your overall fitness journey. For the average fitness enthusiast, ensuring that the supplements they use are safe is paramount. Informed Sport certification provides the assurance that every batch of the supplement has undergone rigorous testing for banned substances and contaminants. This means individuals can focus on their workouts without worrying about the safety of the products they incorporate into their fitness routines. Athletes, too, need to be confident that the supplements they use are not only effective but also safe and clean from any substances that might lead to disqualification or harm.
How Does Informed Sport Test?
Informed Sport conducts rigorous testing on every batch of certified products to guarantee they are free from banned substances before being made available in the market, ensuring the safety of athletes and consumers.
During the production process, samples of each batch are sent to Informed Sport’s laboratory in Cambridgeshire. Here they are subjected to an ISO 17025 accredited prohibited substances supplement screen – a test for over 250 substances that are prohibited in sport. Only when satisfactorily passing this screen are the products released to market.
Why is Form Certifying?
“As a brand we’ve always wanted to provide the highest quality products that can be trusted by our customers,” explains Damian Soong, CEO and co-founder of Form. “As the supplement space has grown in general, sometimes with lower quality products that can confuse consumers, we felt Informed Sport was the right partner to give credibility and confidence to our customers in choosing Form.”
What Does This Mean for Form?
“Another driver in the Informed Sport certification was that as the Form brand has grown, we’ve had increasing requests from professional sports people and teams,” says Soong. “Informed Sport is the most trusted certification for them to be assured of the absence of any contamination from banned substances.”
